Superintendent makes announcement of teacher's dismissal
Eighth-grade teacher Kathryn Camille Murray was removed from the classroom and her employment terminated following a police investigation in an allegedly inappropriate relationship between Murray and a male student at Memorial Middle School, 12550 Vindon, Houston.
Murray taught three years at the SBISD middle school.
Campus and district administration removed Murray from the classroom and campus at large immediately following a report made by a faculty member to the school principal on Feb. 13.
The district launched an investigation shortly thereafter. The allegations were reported to the local Children's Protective Services, the Spring Branch ISD Police Department and the State Board for Educator Certification.
The SBISD Police Department continues its investigation.
Counselors will be on hand at the campus to provide care and counseling as needed in the following days.
Anyone with further information on the incident is asked to contact the SBISD Police Department at 713-984-9805.
